A Quick Storm and Yard Update

I realized I left ya'll hanging with with last storm post! Not very nice at all.

Ike veered a little to the East as it came North, which resulted in it passing 50 miles to the East of the Dallas Fort Worth area. I saw some gusty winds (not over 35mph), and a steady spitting rain most of the afternoon, but nothing serious at all. All the trees survived (though I admit I did snug up the support wires as the storm rolled in) and everything went well. We did have a power loss, but it was less than an hour. Not uncommon when it storms here.

So, all is well, everything is good.

The sprinkler guys came by today, and found a kink in the soaker hose on the south side of the house. This meant that the trees in the front weren't receiving the amount of water that they should have (and the tree on the end of the line got hosed....or not hosed as the case may be). They have unkinked the hose, and I'll be watching carefully to ensure the green things will get busy livin' instead of dyin'.
